2011-12 Class Offerings
School Year Class Sessions - September to June 4 student max / class
Ages 6-12 Stitches & Pins curriculum with Workbook lessons / patterns & You Can Make It for Kids
Teens 13-17 Stitches & Pins / Pins & Needles or You Can Make It! with Workbook lessons / patterns
Adults 18 & up You Can Make It! After machine basics taught (if necessary) - Using commercial patterns
Three - 2011-12 School Year Sessions
I. Fall session - Sept, Oct & Nov … Sept. 4,5 or 6 thru Nov 27, 28 or 29
II. Winter session - Jan, Feb, & Mar … Jan 5, 10 or 11 thru Mar 27, 28 or 29
III. Spring session - April & May ... April 3,4 or 5 thru May 22, 23 or 24
No classes in December Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays
Spring Break for all classes April 2 thru 6
Only monthly commitment required.
Children's / Teens Classes : Tues, Wed or Thurs - at 5-6 pm or 6-7 pm
(times are flexible)
Stitches & Pins and Pins & Needles - Machine Sewing 1 hr class/week. All machines and tools provided. All sewing is done in class. One student per machine. Every student has their own workbook and pattern set. Students work at their own pace. Each project should finish in 3-4 weeks. Students learn to sew basic clothing items such as tops, pants, shorts, nightshirt, skirts etc. Fabric and notions for the first project (Sewing bags) included in tuition. Students are responsible for providing their own fabric and notions for all other projects. A supply list is available in the workbook before student begins each new project.
Tuition $60 monthly + $40 non-refundable registration/workbook/supplies etc - Deposit/registration secures seat in class
Monthly tuition is due at first class each month.
Use Academy's tools or purchase your own - Optional personal sewing kit $7
2. Make up classes are the last Friday of the month at the student's normal class time. Students &/or parents are responsible for making arrangements for scheduling and attending any missed classes. Speak with instructor for available make up classes. 3. Homeschool classes - scheduling available during the day upon request with 2-4 students registered.
Adult Class Schedule: Tues, Wed, or Thurs 2-3:30 pm or 7-8:30 pm

Students work at their own pace on their own projects with help and supervision by instructor. Students supply their own commercial patterns (for You Can Make It!), fabric and notions (with information assistance from instructor and pattern suggestion lists for each level from Simplicity, McCalls, NewLook, Butterick, Burda, & Vogue)
Tuition: $60 monthly + $40 non-refundable deposit for registration, workbook, handouts, etc., and to reserve seat in class

NEW CLASSES !!! Block piecing & Quilting Starting in September (Fall session)
Thursdays 2-3 and 7-8 pm (days & times are flexible)
Piece a sampler of blocks and quilt it. My selection of blocks or yours. Work on blocks that are easy or challenge yourself. Classes limited to 4 students. Use our machines or bring your own. Register now! Use the Adult form and write Quilting" on it.
Tuition: $60 monthly + $15 block patterns notebook.
1. New students welcome at the beginning of the month to any class with an available seat.
4. You Can Make It fit! For pants or skirts Learn to adjust ready-made pants or skirts to fit.
3 hour class with DVD to take home $69.95 ($45 +24.95 DVD) Class dates To Be Announced
5. Handsewing classes can be scheduled with 2-4 registered students.
Tuition: $60 monthly + $20 Registration & beginning supplies
6. Private lessons available at $35 per hour by appointment
7. Special events will be announced in class and on website on "Class offering" page.
Such as: 3hour / 3-day camps during school vacations and breaks
